Nope. 26,000 between the goal lines on each side. 52,000 total between the goal lines.
I was quoting the Park Board letter (copies of which I distributed at a BlazerTalk meeting for a radio call-in show) as they wrote it. The letter clearly stated that the TOTAL seats between the goal lines for both east and west stands was 26,000 -- down from 35,000 with the upper deck removed. Your disagreement is with them, not with me.
Logic tells one that there are more than 18,000 seats (70,000 - 52,000) in the end zones, the curves and the north and south end stands combined.
Logic tells one that there aren't roughly 45,000 (71000-26000) seats in the end zone.
The end zones PLUS the curves PLUS the north and south ends. Yes, there are about 45,000 seats TOTAL
That is why I questioned the design of a horseshoe shaped OCS where a majority of seats would be lower value end zone and beyond seating. Note how many of the newer modern stadium designs opt for double decking (maximizing higher value) sideline seating. There is a good reason why press boxes are not put in the end zones.
