How much? We'll see. As far as ODU, we still have one if not the best running attack in the conference and a lot returning on the O-line and WR. As long as we have a serviceable QB we'll be able to move the ball against most defenses in the league. LB is a question on D but there's young talent so hopefully they'll gel early on.
But you're right, a lot of questions in the east. People were doubting WKU after Doughty left and they didn't miss a beat.
People have doubted WKU every season.....2 seasons ago it was our defense will never be good enough to win CUSA, last season it was no way we win without Doughty...This season its no way we win with a new coaching staff.....
I'm certainly not ready to right WKU off yet. The proof is in the pudding as they say. You guys graduated some key parts of your O-Line though if I'm not mistaken. White was pretty comfortable in the pocket last season. We'll see if he faces more pressure this year and how he handles it.
O-Line will not be an issue. The guys we have stepping in played a lot of minutes in rotation last year. Its all good. WKU will be as good as we have been the last 2years and with a very favorable schedule. LOOK OUT!
What I like is our secondary has been intact now for 4 seasons, we have a lot of experience back there which you need in a passing league like CUSA.....Really I don't see many players able to get pressure on any QB in CUSA besides that Hendrickson guy last season from FAU, D-Line is definitely a weakness with a lot of our teams.....Crazy but the Sun Belt was a better league for D Lineman than CUSA has been....Now CUSA is still better for sure offensively but Sun Belt had an occasion mean nasty D Line who could get after your QB....3 seasons in CUSA, I just don't see many impressive D Line including ours last few years...
Funny because Hendrickson didn't lead the conference in TFL or Sacks, that was done by a Sophomore at Tech who was a Frosh AA the year prior. The previous year the conference had a DL go in the first round. Tech has had bad LB play, but Bates, Ellis, Dora, and Butler are all in the NFL and played together in some combination in CUSA. Ferguson is also one of the top DE's in the country and his pressure numbers speak for themself.
