Lol, the OP wrote this extremely long essay and not once bothered to say what school he was writing about.

Whoever it is, they made a quick mistake in the B12 section, lumping Iowa State with OkSt and WVU academicaly. Iowa State is an AAU member and compares more closely with Mizzou than OkST and WVU.
Ohio.

Poor Ohio.

You let Ohio State steal your flagship status in your state.

Cut it out. Kittonhead asked a legitimate question, so please give him a legitimate answer.

I will do my alma mater (University of Montevallo), and another school I attended (Troy University).

For Montevallo, it depends on where the Falcons want to go. Stay at D2 or upgrade to D1. Montevallo had looked at joining at D1 in the past, but when our rival Birmingham-Southern decided to downgrade from D1(a big mistake, IMO, but they wanted football, so I can sorta see it), it seemed like Montevallo decided to abandon it. Montevallo decided to leave the Gulf South Conference for the Peach Belt Conference because our president thought it was a better institutional & athletic fit at the time. However, one big problem with PBC was that Montevallo had no legitimate rivalries with any PBC members. When another longtime rival, AUM (Auburn-Montgomery) decided to upgrade from NAIA to the Gulf South Conference, Montevallo decided to see if GSC would take them back and fortunately, they did. Since rival UNA (aka North Alabama) is upgrading to the Big South Conference and the A-Sun Conference, I can see Montevallo watching this move with interest. If UNA is successful and stays D1, Montevallo may contemplate going D1 yet again. Other options include going back to the Peach Belt, which really makes no sense, considering that Montevallo still has no legitimate rivals over there or just staying in the GSC.

For Troy, C-USA would be an option if they would give the Trojans an invitation, but because of Troy's very small market, one doesn't seem to be forthcoming, unless C-USA decides to abandon their markets strategy.
