I could see the scenario you mention happening if UNC were added. It seems crazy having YSU in the west but the reality is that the MVC schools would want to maintain rivalries and the Summit schools want to stay together. YSU are the odd school out.

I'm not denying that, at all.

What I'm suggesting is that YSU could respond something like "We've been with you since 1997, and now you're essentially kicking us out into a Dakota/Colorado conference?? You can go pound sand!"

While hardly ideal, they could play full-scholarship, fully funded FCS football in the Big South, or decrease football funding and play in the NEC. Either option might be considered more palatable than staying in the MVFC under that arrangement. A long shot option would be to get a Liberty waiver and play FBS independent, hoping one day for inclusion in the MAC.[/quote]

I would love to see Youngstown St in the MAC down the road. They've been competitive in the FCS for a long while. If that were not an option for any reason, the NEC (ehhh) or CAA (big dreams) or OVC (hmm?) could be options for full membership. I would think they'd fit in best with the OVC. Perhaps, football-only for CAA and full membership in the AmEast (stretch), Horizon (decent fit), or MVC (okay fit?).
