RE: Horizon extends offer to new member
DavidSt loves WT. This is nothing new.

Could WT be a good FCS program? Sure, but they need other regional schools to make the jump with them. The magic behind the Lone Star Conference is that it a bus league filled with other Texas schools. Much like the SWC days of past, you could follow your team to every road game without much fuss. The proximity makes for bad blood. Putting them in a league with Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois schools just to get to D1 doesn't make them any better.

WT on an island is going to be a bad fit. WT in the Southland is a bad fit. Rival ACU is there, but everyone else is in the eastern half of the state. There is a dearth of FCS football playing conferences west of the Mississippi. If they found a way to move the entire conference up OR convinced the WAC to spin up an eastern FCS football division (with western schools + ACU from the Southland + UTRGV's new program), maybe they could do it
