Which is why I'm in favor of the northern flagship conference. At least it's a chance to build a new brand. So while I think NoDak is way, way, way, way too optimistic about the likelihood of it ever happening, I'm sure not going to get in the way of him promoting it.
Exactly take the top of two bad conferences and make a decent one.
