1). No. Montana Presidents aren't and haven't pined for Dakotas

2). NAU is the athletic and academic equal or better of any public Slummitt or Big Sky school.

NAU should have pined for NMSU, and became permanent partners with them would have been a good strategic move. But instead NAU doesn't have any natural ally but SUU. GCU would be one, but NAU rejects them.

The Montanas know better than to look on NAU as a partner, but more as a leech.

Why would we pine for a school 8 hours away when there is one half of that? NMSU had/has no interest in FCS football.

Yes, NAU is such a leech - funds 25% more scholarships in all sports than the Montana schools, is actually good at other sports, continually finishes ahead of them (usually winning) the All-Sports Trophy, and has the only team National Championship in Big Sky history - and in one that 95% of DI schools compete in, not a niche sport like Hockey.

Plus more individual national championships than EWU, Montana and Montana State combined.


Yeah, leeches.
