RE: An Analysis of TV OTT Platforms
Quote:AT&T said Friday that it has successfully completed the first 5G browsing session using a commercial-grade device. The test took place in Waco, Texas.

You can buy the device, a Netgear Nighthawk 5G Mobile Hotspot, for use in 5G test regions later this year. AT&T has yet to reveal a specific release date or pricing for the device.

The company had completed the first 5G data transfer in September, but that was using test equipment, not a device everyday consumers will be able to buy.

AT&T's plan is to start rolling out 5G in 12 cities, including Dallas, Atlanta and Oklahoma City. Then, next year, another 19 cities will gain access, including Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas.

AT&T Nighthawk is debuting this December and is the closest thing on the market to a true 5G Jetpack.

Its a 5G hotspot that can be stacked with AT&T phone service for device savings and with AT&T's Watch TV service (37 channels and similar to Philo in price).

A shared 9GB plan between a phone and a hotspot is only 40 dollars a month with 20 dollars per device cost. I've heard its possible to share an "unlimited" plan that goes up to 100GB before throttling but couldn't confirm on the AT&T website.

Verizon you can combine a Jetpack w/ a cell prepaid plan for unlimited data. But the Jetpacks for sale aren't quite to the 5G standard yet.
