Second? Every one seems to be happy with the pavilion even though most would like an IPF. Why not study a small OCS with options to expand later? We just finished a big capital campaign, so down the road when we get some more momentum, I think this should be brought up.

With the $1million + annual upkeep just to keep Legion Field functioning at a bare minimum, I'm not sure buying would be a good idea.

IF / WHEN the BJCC stadium is built and UAB signs on to use it, an OCS (as I understand NCAA rules on recruiting) would prohibit "official visits" to UAB games downtown. Chances are therefore, if the BJCC stadium is built, there will be no OCS, at least for decades. This NCAA rule on "official" recruiting visits was a contributing factor to AU and later UA moving games to campus.

In the past, I have proposed that IF / WHEN that BJCC stadium is built and if the B'ham Bowl game and Magic City Classic agree to use it, UAB should offer to take the whole park over for its use, demolish the LF stadium and use the land (the whole park is about equal in area to the present UAB undergrad - nonmedical - campus) as a "west campus" for expansion. More land could be bought up to decrease the distance between the two campuses - and UAB already has its own bus system. The park land is relatively flat so it could be developed much more easily / cheaply than expanding into the mountain to the south.
