Opponents matter. I enjoy and respect our conference mates, but our schedules have done nothing to provide excitement. Getting a mix of UNC, VT, UVA, NC State, Duke, ECU, Navy, Maryland, Wake Forest, APP State, and yes even JMU to an extent, routinely on our schedule will help bring excitement to those fans who are not considered diehards. Winning creates enthusiasm and so does rivals or at least a schedule worth talking about.
We have to consistently schedule the strongest/most popular schools around us and be competitive. It looks like we know this and that's why we have some great upcoming OOC games booked.
Obviously the majority of our year will be filled with C-USA games, so I just have to believe that in time a couple rivalries will be formed and the league itself will grow stronger.
The trick is getting our OOC schedule to be even better.
