Clearly the author was not witting/neglected to mention extent to which UVA and Va Tech benefit from ACC media, basketball tournament, and perhaps bowl revenue. That said, the College should be prepared to have all aspects of its value proposition scrutinized going forward. Athletics won’t be exempt.

Of course all aspects should be evaluated, but fairly and completely, not in an incomplete, slanted and intellectually dishonest way. But, he is a professor....
