West Brom led with 30 minutes to play against QPR, with a win securing promotion. But QPR scored, and West Brom huffed and puffed and couldn't get a goal. The Draw left the door open for Brentford...........

The Bees were struggling, but still tied with Cellar Dwelling Barnsley (playing for survival) and a wild 20 minutes played out with both teams knowing they had to win. Barnsley controlled large portions of the 2nd half and were rewarded in stoppage time. Securing safety for Barnsley, and sending Brentford to the playoffs, leaving the door open for Fullham..................

And Fulham had the same issue. Late game, needing a goal to secure promotion against a Wigan fighting for its life. In this situation, neither got their goal. The game ended in a 1-1 draw. Fulham goes to the playoffs, and Wigan goes to League 1. Noone gets what they want. West Brom meanwhile, returns to the Premier League after 2 seasons in purgatory...I mean the Championship

But don't worry, it gets wilder

With Cardiff blowing Hull out of the water (Relegating Hull in the process) Swansea (vs Reading) and Forest (vs Stoke) both entered the last 30 minutes of their matches in 1-1 draws. The only way Forest could possibly not make the playoffs was if they lost, Swansea won, and the Swans made up 5 goals in the process. And then...the championship happened

Stoke scored to go up 2-1 (4 goals needed)
Swansea scored 1 minute later to go up 2-1 (3 goals needed)
Stoke scores again to go up 3-1 (2 goals needed)
Swansea score 4 minutes later to go up 3-1 (1 goal needed)
Swansea score in stoppage time to go up 4-1 (Puts Swans in 6th)
and Just for good measure, with Forest pushing knowing they needed a goal to avoid an epic collapse...Stoke scores again 3 minutes later to win 4-1. With that, Swansea are in the playoffs, and poor Nottingham Forest, continue to be permanent residents of Purgatory. Celebrating something like 12 straight years in the Division)

So to Summarize. West Brom and Leeds are promoted. and in the playoffs, Brentford will face Swansea and Fulham will face Cardiff. Winners will play in 10 days time at Wembley for a spot in the Premier League.

Not sure Wales will survive an all South Wales playoff battle for promotion.

At least there'd be no fans. Can you imagine a South Wales Deby with 80K at Wembly with promotion on the line? The London prisons would be quite busy by the end of that.

Either way though. Swansea won the first leg at home vs Brentford 1-0, but Cardiff laid an Egg and lost 2-0 at home to Fulham.

Yeah, even if there is no away goal rule that's a rather large mountain for Cardiff to climb in the second match.
