I can see that. IMO, I don't there is such a thing a running up the score in the professional ranks. Don't want them to score, stop them. I do agree that Thailand probably shouldn't be in the WC but good for them for being there. At least they didn't get all frustrated and start to give hard fouls etc...

Yeah, that's kind of how I see it too. Lucky that the losing team just took their lumps, but really, I didn't see anything wrong with it.

Our club team would always play keep away when we got up big in Y-League and it always felt far more demeaning for some reason. In high school we would just ship in the JVs once we got up to 9-10 goals in a game, and in college, we never really played in a situation where we were up by a margin like that.

That's the way I see it as well. IMO, it would be far more humiliating to the losing team if the other team simply jogged around the middle of the pitch kicking the ball around.

Yeah, the only time I ever played in a game where I legitimately felt like the other team were just going to try to injure us was when we (Internationals FC) played a team out of Indianapolis and were up 7-0 with about 10 minutes to play in the first half. Coach gave us a 20 pass, 2 touch rule and people started going at our ankles within about 5 minutes.
