And is that a wise coaching decision? Put a great young talent in a position where he can't make much of a difference (the same position he has been playing for a top team in one of Europe's top 4 leagues) and replace him with a guy who seemingly thinks part of his role is to give away balls in the defensive third? Also, Berhalter has been on record saying he thinks McKennie is an attacking midfielder, which...yeah...says a lot.

I wasnt making a judgement on the placement of Adams by Berhalter just saying that is where he is gonna play in his system. In Berhalter's system that Adams fullback position is given freedom to roam so much of the time Adams will end up in the midfield anyway. Personally, I would like Adams creating havoc in the middle and having impact over more of the field from the start....especially against better teams that control possession and will keep our fullbacks in the defensive third.

McKinnie is versatile and could play at AM in a pinch(REAAAALLY big pinch) but I doubt that is where we see him 3 years from now.

Couldn't agree more with everything that you're saying. My point was to further support my worry about Berhalter's ability to identify talent appropriately.

Despite my disagreements with some choices hes made the last 2 weeks, I am willing to hold off criticism through the summer. Until the Jamaica game, everything had gone pretty ok(not great, ok) and, yes, I disagree with some inclusions on the Gold Cup roster although not the ones most people hate.

I still think there is a place for Jozy and Bradley on the roster at this Gold Cup(probably not any farther though). I dont hate Sargent not being on the roster....he hasnt had almost any game time since the Bundesliga winter break either with Werder or with Werder II.

Well see. I am not optimistic about where we finish in this Gold Cup. We could very easily not make it out of the group.

And whoever the coach is, I am not as optimistic about our player pool over the next 4 years as a lot are. We have massive talent holes in defense(Especially Center Back and midfield) and I am also not as high on our current crop of keepers as many others. The hope is that some of the U20 kids can take those spots but even best case scenario you usually only see 4 or 5 from those teams make any impact at all at the senior team.

I'm right there with you...I'm not highly confident about a spot in Qatar at this point honestly.

As for the Gold Cup rosters...it's very odd to me that they would call-up Sargent, remove him from the U20 provisional pool, then not put him on the 23 for the Gold Cup, thus removing him from all international competition this summer. Reeks of general player mismanagement to me...and to think, the main beneficiary was Gyasi Zardes, a man who Berhalter showed an uncomfortable level of confidence in while with Columbus.
