Well, I hope not, considering that would mean he misses basically 6 months of any sort of game time/development going into the Gold Cup.

They can loan him in January I believe so he could start the MLS season with NYCFC. Worst case scenario isnt that he sits the bench and only plays in PL2 games at Man City. Worst case scenario is a loan move to Man City's team in the A League. A League is bottom table USL level soccer.

The transfer wont take place until the summer window. Steffen will be with the crew until the Gold Cup I believe and then join Man City for 2019 preseason.
