Premier League teams that get relegated must get back up before the parachute payments go away. Once they do, you will end up like Leeds, Portsmouth, Blackpool, Blackburn, Aston Villa(only saved by an ownership change at the last minute), etc, etc, etc.

Unfortunately, most clubs put in more money to try to go right back up.

I wouldnt be shocked to see QPR and Birmingham go the same way soon....and in a few years, Stoke and Swansea(only because Jason Levien kills everything he touches).

And honestly, Sunderland got lucky too that Ellis Short sold it in April.

QPR's chairman just got out (partial owner as well) and the club is currently trying to be sold. That should hopefully save them. We've finally complied with FFP and paid the fine too so we are no longer getting destroyed by the mistakes of both Mark Hughes and Harry Redknapp.

Birmingham City and QPR both have Harry Redknapp in common....and Portsmouth and Southampton(parent company went into administration a few years after Redknapp coached there). He isn't responsible for all of their issues but he does have a track record.

Spurs were lucky to survive Harry Redknapp, financially, only because Daniel Levy was our chairman. The Big Yid is a hell of a businessman.
