Premier League teams that get relegated must get back up before the parachute payments go away. Once they do, you will end up like Leeds, Portsmouth, Blackpool, Blackburn, Aston Villa(only saved by an ownership change at the last minute), etc, etc, etc.

Unfortunately, most clubs put in more money to try to go right back up.

I wouldnt be shocked to see QPR and Birmingham go the same way soon....and in a few years, Stoke and Swansea(only because Jason Levien kills everything he touches).

And honestly, Sunderland got lucky too that Ellis Short sold it in April.
