There's been talk that this won't end up happening. MLS is supposedly against the plan, and CONCACAF, FIFA, and UEFA all have to sign off on it, none of which has happened yet.

I read online today that La Liga team captains are against the idea and are going to Madrid this week to let the league office know of their displeasure with the plan. IMO, if RM and Barca don't want to do it it won't happen. I think RM has already said it doesn't want to participate.
