Our confederation is so strange. I mean you have the year in and year out decent sides...US, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, TnT, Jamaica and a few others, but then you get into the small central American countries and some of the Caribbean nations and it just gets weird.

The whole reasoning for this is weird too. CONCACAF is already unusual because we allow countries like Martinique and French Guyana, which are overseas terriorties of France to participate in our tournaments, despite the fact they cannot participate in FIFA tournaments.

In this case, the guy they started yesterday had been capped 80 times for France, but was born in French Guyana. CONCACAF has a weird rule that allows him to play in CONCACAF based tournaments that are not operated under FIFA rules, but the day before the Gold Cup, they declared him ineligible because they decided this tournament would be played under FIFA rules.

They've already said he'll play against Costa Rica as well on Friday.
