If they did I would guess England or Italy.

There are only a few countries in the world that have the stadia to host a World Cup on Short Notice. Outside of the US, England Italy and probably Germany would be the only others.

If they did pull, I think what you might see is the European nations pulling for it to be awarded to the US, so they could in turn host 2026 (UEFA has been making a big deal about hosting in 2030 lately.)

I dont believe it can go to Europe in 2022 unless they change FIFA regulations about a confederation hosting 2 consecutive WCs.

The US could do it for sure....Japan and South Korea could do it, China and Australia too if you want to keep it in AFC and not mess with US/Mexico 2026

Australia is a really good call, and I completely forgot about the consecutive rule, unless they considered Russia in Asia (which realistically Russia would be better served moving over to the AFC).

I doubt that they want to touch the USA/Mexico/Canada partnership after all of the fanfare surrounding it and the ability to appease three federations at once (even though we all know they would rather it only be in the US due to attendance and revenue from '94 still being the highest all-time). It's going to have to be in a highly developed country, and Italy and England came to mind simply because they haven't hosted for quite some time. I doubt they would want to re-hash SK/Japan, France, or Germany that quickly just to keep things up and no one else has the ability to host outside of Spain, but with their FIFA fair play issues on the club side (and the lack of oversight by Spanish Football admin.) I don't think they'd be an option either.

Russia is part of UEFA so they'd be out for 2022. Australia bid for 2022 originally and, to be honest, probably deserves it more than Qatar or the USA. They'd do a great job.

2018----Russia(ugh)
2022----Australia
2026----US/Mexico/Canada
2030----Uruguay/Argentina for Centennial Tournament
2034----England/Wales/Scotland
2038----China
2042----Somewhere in Africa

Booom. We are done.
