I don't know if that age would be an issue. JMU's master plan calls for replacing the Village dorms, which are 49-55 years old.

Not wrong. The Village is a cash cow for JMU - paid off buildings that have rentable income. There is no rush to replace them - words I have heard stated by Charlie King himself in the past. There is still no timetable (that I know of) for the Village masterplan to come to fruition. I'd speculate it is still a decade away. Eagle Hall has a renovation coming up at some point (probably this or next summer). The Jennings Hall 2.0 ("mirror" structure) needs built. Probably another dormitory reno or 2 in there (I'm not sure what's left... Shorts?). When the wrecking ball starts swinging in the Village, it'll be the last batch of residence halls needing addressed. Until then, those buildings become 60+ year old buildings that are not ADA compliant and remain fire hazards - easy selling points for Richmond to approve when it comes time. As for Godwin, I just don't see it. But in 10+ years it'll be that much older and that much easier to be razed if that's what JMU wants to do with it. I guess my point (opinion) is, when Volleyball leaves in 2024, the building is still quite useable; It's not coming down for a while.
