If he did NOT ... then I refuse to rule out the possibility that he made some kind of deal behind closed doors to kill Idaho football as part of getting him put over the top for the position. I don't think anybody believes he made some shady deal to get the job that required he kill the football program.

However Chucky has made it clear that he believes that all college sports should be club sports. He doesn't value athletics at all and from everything I've seen in his time as U of I president, I believe he was planning on dropping the football program down as soon as he got the job. This would explain the lazy, fourth grade level presentation to the SBC and the laughable "study" that was done to explore independence vs. the Big Sky conference. He made up his mind and was dead set on dropping down regardless of all the evidence pointing to it being a foolish endeavor.

No, he didn't get the job just because of his views on athletics. But his utter incompetence, constant lying, and lack of common sense do make you question how he landed the position at all though. In my mind it just comes down to incompetent clowns at the U of I (these were the same people that hired Rob Spear after all) and more incompetent clowns on the Idaho SBOE. From what I understand they interviewed some real impressive candidates, including the woman who is now the President at the University of Wyoming, and passed on all of them for Dumb F_ck Chuck.
