RE: Rockets in the NFL/CFL/AFL: 2017
It's cut down weekend in the NFL, as teams have to get down from 90ish players to 53 by 4PM Saturday. Previous years, there was an earlier cut to 75, but they eliminated that this year, so more than 1500 players will be released today and tomorrow.

So far, reported on twitter.

Miami has released Junior Sylvestre.
Cleveland has released veteran OL John Greco.

Greco was supposed to make around $3M this year, so this follows with the Browns seeming strategy to not be happy until the entire roster is full of minimum salary rookies. The little bits of the preseason games I saw it looked like Greco was playing pretty well, especially considering he is only 8 months or something off of Lisfranc surgery. Chance that he will get picked up by another team as veteran OL are often in demand.
