Make no mistake, on message boards we love to discuss opinions. But if the P5 conferences were ever to split away from the NCAA the Big East would be on the outside looking in with the rest of the kids at the table.

Again, I think the Big East is great. 5 million to not be playing basketball is absolutely amazing and their success speaks for itself. That success is what I personally think determines power vs non power conference.

But the Big East is not one of the P5.

No one is saying they are one of the P5, but you clearly have a bias. The BE makes more than any G5 conferences and they don't play FB. They make the same amount of TV money for basketball as the ACC. Thats being high resource.

Tiny Providence College makes as much money if not more from it's basketball program than mighty USC.

You see, that's pushing it. Just because some apply their money in a 80/20 fashion doesn't mean everyone does it. There's only so much you can spend on football.

Also, we won't know for a few years with the new ACC network if what you're saying will even be the case. And the ACC was by far the lowest of any of the P5 conferences.

Exactly, I could be mistaken but I'm going to assume that the Big East contract includes more than just basketball. The Pac-12 TV contract is for all sports not just football, granted football is the driving force.

And this difference in revenue literally affects all sports. The power conferences are called power conferences because they get the best athletes and have the best facilities.

I respect the Big East for wanting to be good at one thing. But as I said before they are not one of the P5. And "power conference" in basketball is an artificial term that can change any given year.

You know they play more than one sport right? When you say stuff like this it makes me think you don't actually know what you are talking about.

P5 is a football term that has no bearing in basketball.

Really, that's what you took from that?
