We lost players last year, too. Tempi Alaka went to UCF and had a successful year as did Cole Hunt at TCU. The problem with this is you win with seniors and seniors are bigger and stronger if they red shirt.
Rice has got to make changes to our graduate program. Most are 2 year programs and there needs to be one year programs for players with one year of eligibility left.

Another problem is with Cost of Attendance. When JK told the athletes we would participate in Cost of Attendance he wasn't completely honest as we don't pay pay it at 100%. 100% would be close to 2,400 and we only pay 1,800. The players have figured this out and are unhappy, especially when U of H pays 4,800. SMU pays 4,200. This is starting to cause problems with recruiting and retention.

One other issue that is disturbing is that our players didn't receive their money on time this month. Consequently, their rent and other payments are late. Rice is loaning them 300 dollars that players need to pay back. One player told me that not getting paid was the final straw in their decision to leave.

We need to get this fixed if we want to be successful and keep kids on campus.
