Why? Why would you deny someone citizens because they in essence committed a misdemeanor?

Because they are too stupid and lazy to do things the right way. Thats not the type of person we want assimilating here. They can go back to their homeland and be stupid and lazy.

stupid and lazy? i imagine it was a bit taxing to get here. they're literally dying to get here

I met a guy today whose parents attempted to freaking paddle across the Gulf of Mexico and it's shark infested waters just to give themselves a chance at an actual life. I certainly would not call their efforts lazy.
