SHANE EASTER, COMSTOCK
Easter has been an impact-maker all four years and his impact has been felt in all three seasons. The three-sport standout is rewriting the Comstock record book in baseball, shattering school records for hits, singles, triples and batting average before his senior year began. The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder has dazzled at shortstop but can also play outfield, where he figures to play at Eastern Michigan University next season. He earned all-state accolades a year ago when he batted an eye-popping .567 with just two strikeouts. “He’s an outstanding young man who is a natural leader,” Comstock coach Rich Bailey said earlier this year. “He makes everyone want to play better because they want to play at his level.”

NATE JONES, BATTLE CREEK LAKEVIEW
One of just three returning MHSBCA Dream Teamers from 2016, he continues to elevate his game a senior. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound left-hander is a shutdown pitching ace who is equally effective as a center fielder. “He’s just a good all-around baseball player who knows the game,” coach Jeff Sovern said. “He’s been playing it at a high level for a long time.” He totes a hefty .519 batting average and rarely stops at first base. He has 16 doubles, six triples and six home runs on the year with 16 stolen bases. The MHSAA Scholar-Athlete is signed to join brother Nick at Eastern Michigan University next season.

LUKE McGUIRE, STERLING HEIGHTS STEVENSON
When it comes to power baseball, McGuire plays it to the hilt. He’s a power pitcher and a power hitter, and he could very well be utilized as a two-way player at the next level when he joins the Eastern Michigan University baseball program. The big right-hander, who stands 6-foot-2, 210 pounds, fires the ball in the 86-88 mph range. He also serves as the cleanup hitter in the Stevenson lineup, where he has helped the squad to its eighth straight MAC Red title this spring. He has been selected to play in the MHSBCA All-Star Game.
