1. Somebody who worked for his accounting firm copied it from the files or somebody from the IRS found it. If it does say "client copy" then his tax firm is the source. Doubt someone who worked for him would do it.

More recent ones are probably electronic.

There are lots of other possibilities. It could have been Trump himself, or it could have been any number of financial institutions that he borrows from as many would request copies of prior tax returns.

That was my first thought on who released this copy. We usually just show a copy of our W2s to get a loan. Being self employed showing tax returns would be required.

But as you said...it would have been for more than one year. So if the person had the 2005 they would have also had 2004 and most likely 2003. That is if the super rich has to walk through the same hurdles as you and I.
