Assuming we lose only DL, I'm actually cautiously optimistic that we'll see an improvement next year. I don't believe Tubby is coasting or that he's lost his passion for coaching. He's never been a big rah-rah guy. Doesn't mean he doesn't care. I'm all for giving him a year or two grace period to analyze what he has, fix it, and move forward.
So from solidly out of the NIT to maybe an NIT bubble team or 5-6 NIT SEED?
You'd be good with that?
Did you read what I said? Did I say I'd be good with that?
If DL goes then I see a worse year but you see some improvement. Some (as opposed to vast) improvement would be to get into the NIT.
That's what I got from your post and you seemed ok with that.
Trust me. If DL goes pro this team will struggle to get to 16-18 wins even with the **** schedule they will be playing.
Sorry, I may have come across sounding like DL leaving would be a reason for optimism. I didn't mean that. What I was trying to convey was that, even if he DOES leave, I'd still be cautiously optimistic that the Tigers could have a good team next year.
I'm with you. We sometimes forget all the other teams are losing players too. Even if we lose our best player, if he's the only one, we lose less than most other teams losing 2-3 starters.
