The Big Ten needs eight for scheduling, not seven. Possible but UCONN fans have always said it's an all or nothing deal. The MSG appearance by UND proved that it can deliver there, when it was previously thought that only some Hockey East schools can deliver those types of numbers.

I suspect fans might not be making those decisions. I understand UND performed well in MSG but that may not be sustainable on a long term basis. At some point schools like UConn might make sense with so many B1G alum in the area.

UConn is nestled in the mountains of New England.

Not too many B1G alums up there.
