RE: TV package getting worse this year
ESPN losing $$$ and slashing budgets due to the cord-cutting effects of cable can only mean one thing. The Cable Sports coverage bubble has burst. Smaller start-up companies like ASN will likely come and go for awhile but realistically, these smaller networks will die. Streaming revenue seems to be significantly lower than cable and I doubt it will ever be as high.

Collectively, these things, while also accounting for the P5 attempts at separation, means that mid-majors will soon only be broadcast when they play the P5. In a few years, younger people will grow up understanding the P5 as the only true representatives of college sports. Cable coverage has essentially created major leagues for college across the board. Cinderellas will continue to be rare and most of the country seems to not care about them until the tourney, so theres no need to show their regular season games.

But hey, streaming is killing traditional cable anyway and now unlimited satellite data is affordable so its only a matter of time until the point is moot. All TV will be streaming. ESPN3 is the future...well actually almost the present...
