That very well could be the MVC schools rationale for taking in UND. The XDSU's badly want in the MVC, but a 12th MVFC spot could be reserved for Murray St to backfill Wichita St in the MVC.

UNC used to be a better fb program than NDSU for last ten years in DII. UND, Omaha and UNC were the powers, and the XDSU's were only also rans, but that has changed obviously. NDSU never had a playoff game in the Fargodome for 20 years. There would resistance to UNC because of distance and the MVC schools don't want to be outnumbered by the Summit in the own namesake league.
