RE: North Dakota to Summit League and MVFC
Oil makes a state "fiscally" responsible? Funny stuff.

South Dakota does have a boring economy, though one that seems to rarely hit a downturn even when the rest of the country falls apart. Sioux Falls has more than tripled in size since I lived there in the 80s.

Living in Colorado most of my life I will tell you that relying on the gas and oil industry is not a recipe for a solid financial future. No industry I know of has more ups and downs. I would suggest ND diversify. Colorado did (not just pot) and as a state we are much better off for it.

In football we are giving FCOA in certain conditions to some players but we are not 100% FCOA in FB as of today. The goal for FB and downstream sports is full FCOA being online within the next 2 years. We did just build a new FB stadium and new IPA and are in the process of beginning full Frost Arena (basketball) renovation. Unlike UND we know how to manage a budget, long term and short term. We don't just jump and hold a press conference every time NDSU make an announcement (see UND and USD FCOA announcements).

I know how NDSU is funding FCOA, private sources. I know how USD is funding FCOA, student fee increases. What is UND's plan? Seems to be a moving target.

FYI, welcome to the Summit and MVFC 02-13-banana

UND mens hockey has a bigger budget than Wichita St MBB. Much of it doesn't show up on the books, but will later when UND takes ownership of that arena, which is now owned by the charitable trust.

And yet UND are still hurting for money, as is the state of ND who have again told UND to cut their budget. WSU's budget does not include either FB or a money hungry sport like hockey. Your continued skewing of facts isn't going to change the fact that UND are not going FBS and are not going to a new WAC. Of course, neither are the Montana schools or anyone else you have mentioned in your years long crusade to make up facts.

And yet, UND still offers FCOA for all sports. If money is so tight, why dont we drop that and become like S Dakota St. Both schools offer way too many sports too.

Fiscally responsible? North Dakota has billions in a trust fund that can't be touched, but now wants a 15% reduction in its budget because of low oil prices. UND got a new medical school complex, a petroleum engineering complex, and a UAV center in the last final round legislative session with high oil prices.

Meanwhile, South Dakota rather boring economy keeps chugging along even though it only has oil wells in the far NW corner near ND. A different definition of responsible certainly.
