The plan cannot possibly be to "make as much money as you can off football." Paying Bailiff the #2 coaching salary in CUSA torpedoes such a plan. I think JK's plan with football appears to be, "Let Rice football cruise along like a large ocean liner without a destination. Don't rock the boat or make any sharp turns."
