This is the stuff that I wish ODU was highlighted and promoted in more. Barely any mention of ODU except the new art museum

In media like this, Old Dominion University should have been used instead of ODU. Sure locals know what ODU is. I you are trying to attract outside investment into the region/city you need to spell it* out sometimes. *it being any local terms / slaying etc...

So the ODU Innovation Center is mentioned as well (bottom of page 18) But it still says "ODU". At least "Old Dominion University" Is spelled out in the picture next to it. But I do agree it looks better when it says "Old Dominion" for outsiders of the area. Maybe it's a space thing? Our school does have a lot of letters haha.

I also noticed that the Ted is on Page 23 with our full named spelled out on the billboard we have under the TV's, but half of it is cut out. But it is there alongside TCC and "NSU Football Games" in the same section.

I said barely any mention. But it should say "Old Dominion University" on the destinations page. There are plenty of investment opportunities around ODU. The city of norfolk needs to promote that. On another page I said the City of Norfolk is not doing enough to help ODU, this is what I meant.

With the cutbacks to the military and federal budgets, Hampton Roads, and especially Norfolk, would be quite wise to lobby for more growth and research at ODU. Part of that would include making the area around the campus more safe, more conducive to research and more college friendly. Imagine a joint bio-technology park with EVMS in Park Place instead of the ghetto. Also, the village is a sterile district with no character, BUT the area near UPie, Cogans, Macks Barge (OSullivans), Dirty Buffalo, Wave on Colley has great potential to be a "Downtown ODU" type area. Its starting to get the critical mass to finally give ODU a new strip of bars/clubs thats been missing since 4400, Friar Tucks, Speedys, Kings Head etc were torn down. If those businesses were encouraged to embrace the ODU community and started to act like it was part of a "college town" (student specials, ODU gear all over them, frat nights etc) it would do wonders for improving the area, the school and the regional economy.
