It's freaking bizarre how people don't care enough to try to contribute to someone's success, but they're by gosh oh so passionate about things when the same person is failing.

Not saying you're wrong Harbor. But, I still think if after that 22 win season, Green had managed to put together a run of +.500 seasons, he'd have been kept on and would have gotten the fan base behind him more than they did. The 14-16 follow up season had people thinking "flash in the pan".

Yes, he had one good year after that and then 1 very good year.

Yes, people can say RG cut him off at the knees as well (which I think was true in part), but after three following 10 and 13 win season, at some point the staff had to say he's not going to bring us consistent winning seasons.

I do agree that the roll-over extensions _have_ to stop. 4 year contract, you coach through it, and then it gets evaluated afterwards. (Although I don't know if that's even legal/possible with state laws)

Quote: Arguably the worst facilities in D1, average recruiting area, no tradition, lackluster attendance,

Could the facilities be better? Yes.. but I seem to remember some hi-profile coaches saying that the atmosphere was pretty damn good when they'd come down to visit.

Average Recruiting Area: No disagreement there. But not sure how you can improve on that one, other than looking outside the normal recruitment area.

No Tradition: Is that on the fans, the school, or the team and coaches? I'd say it's on the last two more so than the first ones.

Lackluster Attendance: that one you can point to the fans, no ifs ands or buts.

Quote:I'm not saying we should be content with it, but we are what we are in basketball

Shifty.. that sounds like you are saying.. "this is the best we're going to get, so let's be content."
