Strike where? There are only 4 programs worth adding that are even mildly possible (Army, Air Force, Boise, and BYU). Otherwise it's just adding teams for the sake of adding them. Now if you can convince any 2 of those to join you do it immediately, but otherwise it's a waste of time. The AAC is the best G5 league by a wide margin and it appears to be getting wider by the year. The networks have made it pretty clear the money isn't really there for a coast to coast 16-20 team league, but I'd love to have all the academies in the AAC.

Add UMass olympic sports in 2018 with a small scheduling alliance and alternate for bowl tie-in. Make us get off the pot and let us build our Football program and stadium. Basketball is rebuilding and will be an NCAA team by the 2018 season. Many women sports are at the top of the A10 conference. WBB though is a total rebuild but they have a good new coach, so time will tell. We'll earn our way in Olympic sports with NCAA credits and have some very good fun to watch basketball games. The women own a few sports in the A10 in lacrosse and field hockey.

I am all for adding UMass once UMass makes ITSELF get off the pot and build the football program and stadium. I feel like UMass administrators still don't get it yet. A school has to spend the money and do the heavy lifting before a conference will extend an invite, not the other way around.
