Dude, LH is a professor at JMU and I was once on the athletic board. We are a little more informed than our JMU brothers who live far away and have no true connection to JMU beyond diploma and misguided opinions. The reality is a lot of people close to our athletics program don't read these boards or don't post anymore because the chicken littles ran them off. They read the threads that have good info and skip threads like this.

I am glad you are happy in CUSA. Just because I feel ODU should have been more patient in making a move doesn't mean I feel CUSA is a bad destination. If JMU ends up there as well someday, I would be happy with it as well. I do think JMU is smart for not joining the Sunbelt. For now, I am enjoying the success of our athletic programs and am looking forward to another great football season.

Yeah, so I guess our donations are fine but our opinions don't mean sh!t.

I think there has been progress over the past decade, but one of the unspoken reasons why JMU lags in fundraising is that - as a general proposition- it does not truly embrace its alumni community. It has done a better job of embracing the local community, but in my opinion it views graduates outside of Rockingham County as a source of capital but not truly part of the university.
