Keep in mind, contracts are made to be broken. If not enough TVs turn on this fall, look for those contracts to be pulled.

Crazy thing is, it's not even like the MAC made their deal way before CUSA. The new MAC deal was signed in 2014, only two years before CUSA's 2016 deal.

Also, if I recall correctly, part of the reasoning for the dollar figures they're getting is due to their willingness to schedule football games on Tuesday & Wednesday nights.

People here crow about the money that the MAC is getting, but don't want to think about the consequences of those crazy schedules just to get TV exposure. When the MAC deal expires in 2027, who knows how things will look then in a vastly different marketplace. But I have a sneaking suspicion that those decisions to hold Tuesday & Wednesday night games is slowly eroding their fanbases. It certainly affects attendance, and that's in the here & now. How will things look after 10 more years of that?

Be honest, how many fans on this message board would look forward to one Tuesday or Wednesday night game every year, even if it is on TV? I would think long & hard because that's at least 1.5, probably 2, days off work for such games. The first few might be novel, but they would likely get old pretty quickly.
