Those schools are not actually affiliate members, that is a term many utilize when a school needs a home for only one or a few sports. CAA Football is a separate entity in and of itself with a separate charter. However the same cronies manage both CAA Football and The CAA. CAA Football is basically the same as the MVFC with only one sponsored sport. This issue is made clear in that should we pull out of CAA Football, we would pay no penalty. It is only should we move out of the CAA where we would have an obligation of $1M to pony up. With that being stated, we should be free to do what ever we need to do in the best interest of JMU. By not pursuing something on our own we are supporting two things, towing the CAA line and like most things JMU, place little emphasis on self promotion.
