Tsk tsk. We're not taking about the playoffs produced by the NCAA. Sure, if we win the natty every year, a few nationally televised games is more than G5s get....but if you're realistic, you understand that seasons like last year are special and not the norm.

Yes, every single G5 conference has a vastly better deal than the crap the CAA presented today. For that matter, I challenge you to find a worse TV among division 1 scholarship football conferences.

First of all, I think everyone agrees the TV deal stinks. It is awful. My argument is that no one outside of JMU fans cares about JMU or CAA sports. No one cares about CUSA or the Sunbelt either. None of these conferences matter. One is not significantly better than the other from a TV package perspective. All are resorting to digitalcoverage. JMU will stream every home game for those too far away or too cheap to buy a ticket.

If your head was not buried in the sand, you saw this coming. ESPN is struggling. Viewership is down everywhere. Networks are no longer throwing money at schools for sports content. This is a paradigm shift for college athletics not administrative ineptitude.

Where have you guys been over the last two years? The CAA has always paid to broadcast its games. They struggled to find advertisers. Young people don't even have cable these days. All of these factors and others have taken away advertisers and the ability to make money broadcasting sports. In addition to ESPNs financial issues, we have seen ASN and other regional broadcasters go out of business.

If business people can't make money on your content, they don't buy it. Is this board filled with art majors who have no concept of business investment works. Here is 101. You don't invest in something that loses money.

Clearly you were not a Marketing major nor work in marketing/promotions/sales. Businesses do, and always have (at least since the introduction of TV), spent "Billions" promoting themselves. There is a little thing most folk refer to as looking at the big picture.
