Maybe it would be easier to just ask both of those conferences about full/fb affiliate membership, assuming they haven’t already tried.

There is a very good reason, neither conference (SoCon or OVC) wants either school as full members. I know the SoCon does not take associate members in for football and I don't think the OVC does either.

Really?
What's the reason?

UNA - Trustee Libby Watts- Jordan told the board of trustees Monday she thinks the Ohio Valley Conference decision in November to reject UNA is an opportunity for the university to become a stronger D-I school before fully making the move in athletics.
"I feel like when we jumped into the D-I vote, we did not have the foresight to bring a good set of oars with us, much less a paddle," said Watts-Jordan, who voted no to D-I June 13. "This (rejection) gives us the opportunity to do that, gives us the chance to slowly and meticulously raise money, get the application fee, get extra money to our sports and increase funding in athletics at the D-2 level.

KSU- will depart any FCS conference as soon as any FBS offer comes, good conferences want members for the long term, not pass through teams like the ASUN and Big South thrives on.

Libby Watts was against the D1 move all together...

She did everything she could to persuade to stay D2.

But, that's a fair assessment.

I cant speak for KSU, but I do know the only thing I ever see or hear about them going FBS is on boards... talking to KSU people at ballgames in Florence, they seem to think otherwise. But that's just folks talking as well.

Will an FBS conference really be interested in KSU when you got Georgia Tech and Georgia State in the same area?
