What Falwell said in his closing remarks in the Press Conference was what caught my attention.

In talking about the ASUN and especially the Commissioner he said, “Open to ideals outside of the box, creative and innovative that may come to fruition and take us to a higher level.”

What do all think he was possibly referring to in that last sentence?

I remember hearing that too. My first guess was taking a school outside of the geo-footprint. UT-RGV could be an example. Another idea is taking associate members that are not exactly typical to the schools in the ASUN.

I'd like to hear other ideas as to what he meant.

Grand Canyon is one that would stick out in my head. They are in a large market. They just got back their nonprofit status. Like Liberty they have a ton of money and athletically have pretty good sports. Why keep competing with them and just join them. It would tick off all of D1. Lol

How would that help the rest of the conference? Seems like a crap ton of travel for all the schools just for another big market.
