So, one could easily assume it's a possibility he has issues gaining eligibility in college as well.

However, WKU went through eligibility issues with Diagne, who was brought over to the US by the same coach as Bassey (that same coach was just given an assistant coaching position at WKU). So they should know the best way forward to ensuring his eligibility.

This sheds some light and explains why a 5 star center would go to WKY. Major eligibility concerns and they hired his guardian, who took over custody from his Nigerian father. I thought it seemed odd the number 3 recruit in the 2019 class was choosing between WKY, BC, Rutgers, and Cal.
