I think he was arguing that wasn't a 5-win team. A sober Blaine would have likely coached that team to around or better than .500.

Jones did a good job of stopping the bleeding and preventing as tailspin. I'll be the first to admit that. I don't think he is capable of much more than he has given us. It boils down to hoping we catch lightning in a bottle at the CUSAT every year, which has yet to happen. We are never good enough where there is any level of confidence we will win. It is always watch passively and maybe we'll get lucky.
