The issue isn't at the top of the list; Florida and Louisvill ust underperformed, it happens every year. The problem was to extrapolate that to the borderline teams at the bottom of the list - Vandy, NC State, etc. There was one team in the top 16 of the RPI that didn't get a host slot because of the ACC/SEC bias. They got a national championship instead.
