Gaining momentum, Troy prepares for Hilltoppers

MOBILE, Alabama -- There has been a shift in Troy's season. The Trojans, who started the year with a win at UAB but lost back-to-back games at Louisiana-Lafayette and at home against Mississippi State, have now won two consecutive Sun Belt Conference games and appear to be gaining momentum. That momentum is about to be tested.

With a 3-2 record that feels better than that and, according to head coach Larry Blakeney, could be, perhaps should be, even better, the Trojans get this week off to heal and catch their breath before hosting Western Kentucky in a Thursday night ESPNU game at Veterans Memorial Stadium. The Trojans get the opportunity to make a statement against the Hilltoppers, who are playing as well as any team in the Sun Belt at the moment.

A home game in front of a nationally televised audience has worked well for Troy in the past and its high-powered offense led by quarterback Corey Robinson and running back Shawn Southward doesn't hurt either.
