I've had to deal with both, and would much rather deal with VT. I've had to deal with a lot of VT students and alums and the majority of them are actually nice to work with. I would obviously prefer dealing with JMU people. I still enjoy rubbing in our win over them and most of them are pretty good sports about it. They also don't want to play us, because they know we could definitely do it again. (Disclaimer: they have plenty of a-hole fans, but every fan base has those).
The townsfolk around VT are another story. If you've never been here, you'd think they were rednecks, but they are just the opposite. Lots of rich people that love to complain.
Here's a perfect example and you cannot make this up: A woman complained because the town painted a fence close to her house the wrong shade of white.

This topic has been discussed many, many times before. With regards to sports only, you really think VT fans are more tolerable than UVA fans? When UVA has won Nat'l Championships in the past, you would have never known it by the way they acted. On the other hand, VT fans think they are the second coming of Alabama/Clemson, and they've never won anything to brag about.
