I think it would be wise to do if we had another high paying gig during the season. Playing UConn for $250K and UMD game for $450K seems like it would be acceptable for our fans since UMD is in our backyard.

This whole notion of needing a pay off from an FBS school is just plain silly to me. If we are averaging close to 24k per game, that should be sufficient to warrant not having to schedule an FBS for a $300k pay out. If we can’t make that on a home game, then the finance folks at JMU need to take a look at why.

The CAA isn’t what it use to be. There are many easy conference games now where there did not use to be. JMU needs to reconsider it’s scheduling. Playing crappy schools and winning 80-0 is not entertainment.

On NDSU. We don’t need to schedule them in the regular season. For the foreseeable future, we likely will play them in the championship much like Rowan and Mt. Union did for many years.

The best part of JMUs schedule these days is the playoffs and maybe two CAA games each year.

You and I are definitely on the same page with this. We don't always know which three CAA schools are going to be cupcakes, but there are always three (sometimes four). Usually URI is one of them then two others end up being whipping boys for the Dukes. No reason to schedule more for OOC games. I'm not saying OOC needs to be "NDSU" good, but at least someone who makes the playoffs every few years.

Finishing in the top 3 of the CAA will get us to the playoffs. The notion that OOC scheduling is designed to do that is also plain silly. OOC scheduling should be done to get fans to come to games. The 1A schedule is often pretty boring in early September. Bring in schools we want to see.

I like the Chattanooga game. Give me more of this. FCS playoff teams. Not NDSU but So Con and maybe Youngstown or another MVC school.
