Fantasy only works, IMO, when anchored to something real. I enjoy the genre very much, but I have a limit on my suspension of disbelief.

I only started viewing GOT two months ago and binge watched the entire series up to next episode and the story quality has declined. It is still a terrific show and I look forward to the rest.

Yeah, a show with dragons, messages sent by ravens, and witches is anchored in reality.

All shows, whatever genre, need to ignore certain aspects of real life to fit the show int whatever running time is chosen. Nit-picking can just destroy the illusion. I hated the battle action in Star Wars: since when do pilots of FTL craft shout at each other "he's on your tail!!! I got him!!"? The action was straight out of WW II. But to make the movie work, I had to abandon my role of science editor.

Exactly. It's fantasy... the whole point is to not get worked up about the details. If you do that you will drive yourself crazy!
